The Tier 2 (Intra-Company Transfer) Visa can be applied for when a foreign company dispatches its resident representative in the UK. The UK branch should acquire a sponsorship license from the Home office in advance.
Types of Intra-Company
- The Tier 2 (intra-company transfer) visa is divided into two types:
long-term staff visa that can be applied for by those who have rendered service at the home office for a given period and graduate trainee visa that can be applied for by university graduates who have served three or more months.
- This visa application may be approved when the applicant has obtained a CoS from his/her employer and he/she satisfies the scores allocated by the Home office to his/her pay, English skills, and living expenses.
Conditions of Stay
- Intra-Company Transfer visa holders may also be accompanied by their family members.
The spouse and children below 18 years of age may apply for dependent visa.
The accompanying family members may apply for their visa together with the main visa applicant or separately at a later date.
Children below 18 years of age may enjoy the merit of being admitted to a public school when the visa is issued.
Length of Stay
- The length of stay permitted in the UK is restricted based on the visa category and annual pay.
The long-term staff visa may be obtained by those who receive annual pay of GBP 120,000 or more for five years and one month or up to nine years, whereas an application for graduate trainee visa for up to 12 months may be made.
The stay in the UK may be extended within the approved period. Unlike general work visas, residency permit is not given to the holders of this visa even if they stay in the UK for five or more years.
