The Tier 2 (Sportsperson) visa may be applied for by non-EEA elite sportspersons or qualified coaches who can contribute to the development of sports in the UK.

Visa Requirements
- For approval, the applicant should obtain a CoS from a sports club or an organization with a sponsorship license and should also satisfy the scores allocated by the Home office to English skills and living expenses.
The applicant should also obtain advance endorsement from the Sports Governing Body overseeing the relevant sport category.

Conditions of Stay
- Since family members may accompany the visa holder, his/her spouse and children below 18 years of age may apply for dependent visa.
The accompanying family members may apply for their visa together with the main visa applicant or separately at a later date.
Children below 18 years of age may enjoy the merit of being admitted to a public school when the visa is issued.
The visa holder may work for up to 20 hours [a week] in a job category falling under the Shortage Occupation List published by the Home office in addition to the employment indicated in the CoS.

Length of Stay
- A sportsperson visa holder may stay in the UK for up to six years.
The initial visa application is for three or five years depending on the case.
When he/she stays in the UK for a total of five years, he/she may apply for residency.
