Not all fee-paying schools can admit non-EEA students. Only schools with a Tier 4 sponsor licence can issue students with a confirmation of acceptance for studies which students must obtain in order to apply for immigration permission as a Tier 4 (Child) student.
So, it is very important to check if the schools have a Tier 4 Child category sponsor licence and can issue CAS under this catergory.
-
Visa Requirements
- In order to qualify for a Tier 4 Child Student visa, stduents will need to satisfy UK Visas and Immigration that:
students have been offered an unconditional place on a course of study with a school holding a Tier 4 Sponsor Licence;
students need to have a written consent from thier parent(s) or legal guardian(s) confirming their travel, reception and care arrangements while in the UK;
students willl also need to appoint a guardian in the UK If thier parents or legal guardians are not resident in the UK.
-
Conditions of Stay
- Students can not study at an academy or a local authority-funded school.
If a student currently has a valid UK student visa and is looking to change schools, they must apply for a new student visa.
This application will need to be supported by a confirmation of acceptance for studies (CAS) from their new sponsor.
-
Length of Stay
- Students can apply for their visa no more than 3 months before the scheduled start date of thier course, and successful applicants will be granted a visa in line with the length of their initial course of study.
Visa extension in the UK is possible provided students apply no more than before the start date of thier course and no later than 6 months after getting a confirmation of acceptance for studies (CAS).
